Decision makers Workshop - Half-day

This workshop is intended to give those people in a position to influence the establishment of a national IXP a framework and tools to make any decisions in this regard. There is a separate two day workshop for technical people to learn how to enable any decisions that are made by this group. The workshop is designed to run over half a day. The sessions are allocated as follows:

Programme
Session 1: Introduction (1 hour)
Session 2: Case studies (1 hour and 15 minutes)
Session 3: Snap survey (15 minutes)
Session 4: IXP economics (45 minutes)
Session 5: Conclusion and facilitated discussion (1 hour or more)

The participant overview (pdf 44KB) provides a detailed outline of all the sessions.

Preparation

  1. Hosts should read through the hosting requirements (pdf 52KB) and ensure they are all met.
  2. Trainers should read through all the session material (see the attached checklist of documents) and make sure they feel confident to present it and answer questions.

Delivery

Trainers must complete a workshop materials evaluation form (doc 52KB) and participants must complete the workshop evaluation form (doc 80KB). If you have completed the workshop but had a chance, it's never too late!
